Quill and Ink

A balated birthday present came in the form of a quill and ink. I love it. The sound of the nib dipping in the pot and then the wonderful scratching sound it makes on the paper. I think its wonderful. I do, however, need to work on my own handwriting otherwise the beauty of the pen is simply wasted!

Why are bank holidays always rainy?

The best way to spend the last bank holiday before christmas? I've been spending this rainy bank holiday indoors with a cup of tea and a book I picked up last week, Alain-Fournier's The Lost Estate. I hadn't heard of it before so a quick search told me it has been translated from the French original 'Le Grand Meaulnes' and is considered a classic in french literature. Hopefully it'll be worth a read, plus, I always trust a Penguin publication.

How are you spending your bank holiday?

Just a little Hello ...

Hi!

I'm Sammie, welcome to my blog. I'm totally new to this blogging thing so you'll have forgive me if I get it a little wrong to being with. Hopefully, I'll pick it all up soon enough. I've wanted to start a blog for a little while now but I just always assumed I'd have nothing interesting or relevant to blog about. Lately though, I've noticed myself  thinking 'that would have made a good little blog post' so today I've gone for it! If no one reads it then it'll just be for me and if they do, well then that will just be a wonderful bonus!

I'm 22. Media/Film/Photography is mostly what I enjoy so thats probably going to be what my blog surrounds. I like to bake so there is good chance you'll see my attempts at cakes and biscuits too.  I'm part of a theatrical group (though admittedly my part lies in the chorus singing quietly but I enjoy it all the same). My love of magazines is pretty close to being out of hand. A good cup of tea, slice of cake and a brilliant film is close to my heaven. I'm a university drop out and still trying hard to find my way but I figure its better to try things and realise you don't like them instead of of simply not finding out at all. I've just started 'geocaching'. Its excellent fun, and recommend it to anyone who likes being outdoors. I live in a small market town on the outskirts of Leicestershire, so I began my geocaching hobby almost right on my doorstep.

They'll be plenty of other things about myself that will be picked up through my blog posts, so for now, if you're reading this I thank you for making it to the end of my first post. Feel free to ask me anything, I can't promise to know the answer but I always try.
